The impact of culture and behaviour at the interface of health and care

In the Spring, we conducted primary research into what is driving poorer outcomes at the interface between health and care. Our objective was simple – to better understand the impact that culture and behaviours are having on driving poorer outcomes for patients and service users.

We surveyed more than 200 health and care professionals, and revealed the findings at ADASS Spring Seminar, provoking significant debate and making the front page of The MJ in the process. We are now publishing a summary of the findings.

We believe there is a real opportunity to develop this insight further. Uncovering evidence and insight at a local level would help reframe the conversation between health and social care, and enable a greater focus on addressing cultural and behavioural issues in order to improve outcomes and reduce overall costs.

Our solution involves a 3-stage approach that starts with a free Discovery Workshop (there are 10 workshops available during June or July, on a first-come, first-served basis). These will be facilitated workshops with key stakeholders from across Health and Social Care, with the aim of exploring IMPOWER’s primary research findings and completing a local gap analysis exercise.
