The Department of Education have funded the Fostering Network who has enlisted the support of IMPOWER to help councils better engage with their communities on the issue of foster care. Helping councils to enhance their fostering service and recruit more foster carers.
IMPOWER will undertake pioneering research into the core motivations of foster carers by engaging directly with the Fostering Network’s membership base of over 42,000 foster carers. Based on this, we will provide a national insight report, available to all Councils.
Application of this innovative method with 6 pioneering Councils has already given them a head start on this challenge, with recent projects beating the best of the private sector to The Times Management Consultancy Association Awards 2013 (Customer Engagement category).
As the Minister explains in his letter, the Department of Education supports and encourages this innovative approach. If your authority would like to get involved please ask your Head of Fostering Service to take advantage by completing the benchmarking survey.
If you would like to know anymore about the project please contact Jeremy Cooper on 020 7017 8030 or jcooper@impower.co.uk.
