Lord Victor Adebowale has spent his career championing the needs of those affected by poverty, mental health issues, drugs, alcohol, learning disability and complex needs.

Lord Victor Adebowale has spent his career championing the needs of those affected by poverty, mental health issues, drugs, alcohol, learning disability and complex needs. He uses his voice in many different spaces and roles; in organisations for youth homelessness, social care needs, employment & skills and social enterprise. He was one of the first ‘People’s Peers’ in the House of Lords, and last year became the new Chair of NHS Confederation. Prior to this, Adebowale spent almost 20 years as Chief Executive of Turning Point. With his keen focus on health inequalities and involving communities, I am excited to see how he helps shape the health sector. It is really important to have black people in these spaces, where there is often a lack of diversity or we are disproportionality affected.
